Guild Yule is seeking a Corporate Lending / Conveyancing Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant

We value our familial and friendly culture and are seeking a full-time Corporate Lending / Conveyancing Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Conveyancing – Commercial and Residential

• Finding relevant information, due diligence searches
• Preparing purchase and mortgage documents, other documents for registration at Land Title Office
• Registering transfers, mortgages and other documents at Land Title Office
• Ordering payout statement on existing mortgage
• Registering discharge of mortgage after completion
• Reporting to Clients

Commercial Lending

• Receiving instructions from bank
• Organizing and conducting due diligence searches
• Gathering information to prepare documents such as commitment letter from bank and preparing checklist of related documents
• Preparing documents
• Sending documents for execution
• Filing documents for registration at Land Title Office, Personal Property Registry and other registries
• Checking documents are properly executed before sending back to the bank
• Requisitioning of funds
• Closing deals including receiving and payout of funds
• Following up on discharges
• Reporting back to the bank

Other Responsibilities

• Maintaining confidentiality of Firm, client, and employee information
• Entering time, editing and preparing client invoices

Key Qualifications

Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate plus minimum 2 years’ experience in Real Estate and Commercial Conveyancing as well as Commercial Lending, Corporate Commercial and Wills and Estates experience is also an asset

Key Skills

Advanced English vocabulary, spelling, and grammar; excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly using discretion, tact and courtesy
• Proficiency with computers including advanced MS Word, Excel and other relevant programs
• Attending to registrations with the LTSA, PPR and other registries as well as conducting due diligence searches with various federal and provincial agencies
