Mariah Friedrick

Biography

Mariah is currently a student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. She anticipates completing her Juris Doctor in 2024. Prior to law school, Mariah obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Combined Honours) in English and Contemporary Studies from the University of King’s College, Halifax.

During law school, Mariah volunteered as an assistant editor at the UBC Law Review, organized the Environmental Law Group’s annual Negotiation Competition and was a founding member of the Allard Ski Team. She also worked as a research assistant to Kristen Thomasen, Dr. Graham Reynolds, Dr. Isabel Grant, and Janine Benedet, KC on a variety of projects relating to intellectual property law, tort law, and criminal law. During her second year, Mariah worked as a student clinician with the UBC Innocence Project and Criminal Law Clinic and spent the summer in Golden, B.C. as a legal advocate at the Golden Women’s Resource Centre.

Outside of law, Mariah enjoys running, skiing, hiking, cycling and camping. When not in the mountains, you will often find her on a patio enjoying a craft cider with friends.
