Biography
Vinson joined Guild Yule as an associate lawyer after completing articles with the firm in 2023. Before law school, Vinson was an outreach worker at a local non-profit, where he learned to use empathetic listening and unconditional positive regard in his work with marginalized clients. He applies this compassionate and client-centred approach to his legal practice.
Advocacy and community are important to Vinson. Before law school, he advocated for supportive housing services before city council on behalf of unhoused community members in his hometown of Richmond, BC. In law school, Vinson supported his fellow classmates as the Law Students’ Society Accessibility Representative, and helped plan the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers’ first LGBTQIA+ event as part of UVic OutLaws. He also competed in the BC Law Schools Competitive Moot, where his team won their division.
Outside of law, Vinson enjoys outdoor adventures, trying new foods, running, and making art. When left to his own devices, you will almost always find him enjoying a nice smelling candle or tending to his fiddle leaf fig.
