On June 22 the BC Ombudsperson released his report finding 2 Ministerial Orders were invalidly made. In response, the Government enacted the Covid related Measures Act, to rectify this, and deal with ‘step down’ periods of effectiveness of a number of Ministerial Orders, once the provincial state of emergency expires.
This Briefing Note is intended as an update on the status of those Ministerial Orders pertaining to limitation periods and protection from liability, under this new statute.
