Biography
Sonya is currently an articled student at Guild Yule LLP, having completed her Juris Doctor degree at University of Calgary. Before law school, Sonya earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia with a major in Sociology, after which she worked as a Claims Examiner for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, where she was responsible for facilitating claim files through every stage of litigation.
During law school, Sonya interned at an established law firm in downtown Calgary. She worked on various philanthropic initiatives while at the firm, including the Bust Project and Mia’s Closet. In addition, Sonya volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and played on the intermural soccer team throughout her time at law school.
Outside of law, Sonya enjoys hiking, travelling, and trying new brunch spots.
