Davin is a civil litigator whose practice focuses on constitutional and administrative law, health law, human rights, and personal injury. He has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia and at the Supreme Court of Canada, and regularly resolves matters through negotiation and mediation.
Davin acts for the Province, health authorities, health care practitioners, school boards, municipalities, and international companies.
Before joining Guild Yule LLP, Davin articled with and practised at the BC Ministry of Attorney General. There, he was second chair for the Attorney General of British Columbia as an intervener in Dorsey v. Canada (Attorney General), 2025 SCC 38, addressing how developments in habeas corpus law bear on the provincial correctional system. He was also second chair in Jonckeau v. British Columbia (Attorney General), 2025 BCSC 1342, which concerned patients’ constitutional rights within the health care system. He also has reported decisions on civil procedure and litigation practice.
Davin received his Juris Doctor from UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law in 2023, with a specialization in Law and Social Justice. During law school, he was a clinician on the anti-corruption team of the International Justice and Human Rights Clinic. He continues to work with the Clinic and recently co-authored its submission to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on the role of Indigenous laws in addressing the human rights impacts of the nuclear legacy in the Marshall Islands.
Outside the office, Davin is a w*acker who performs and battles in Vancouver’s street dance scene.
